Re: -   10th ANNUAL SCIENCE FAIR – FRIDAY 29th FEBRUARY 2008

  Dear Colleague,

This very popular event is an opportunity for your Year 5 pupils to come and share our enthusiasm for science.

This year as well as the usual pops, smells and weird creatures, we are showcasing:

  • ‘Forces in a Box’- a project that we have been developing with Greasby Junior School, to provide subsidised resources to help deliver the challenging KS2 ‘forces and motion’ topics. This is a sequel to the award winning ‘Science in a Box’ project.

  • Our ‘After School Science Club’- Do you have pupils who are keen on science but you lack the time or experience to run a science club in your school? If so, it may be possible for them to come to us and share their enthusiasm with our pupils and those already attending from other schools.

Last year’s event was over-subscribed and some schools who wished to attend were disappointed. If you are unable to come during the day but would like to know more about Science Clubs, or the ‘Forces in a Box’ project you would be most welcome at the twilight session.

Yours sincerely,

Mike Hayward, (Head of Science), Birkenhead School,  58 Beresford Road,
